WHITTON, the youngest of six siblings, began singing and performing at the age of six. She's recorded four full-length albums with acclaimed producers David Hauser (Redbone, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Iron Butterfly), Kevin White (writer for Billy Ray Cyrus), and Ronan Chris Murphy (King Crimson, Dishwalla). Also, she sang backup vocals on the SHOWTIME's "DEXTER" soundtrack. One of her acoustic songs, "Mercy" was placed in the feature film "Exit Strategy" (with Big Boy from KPWR Power 106 & Kevin Hart. WHITTON has won several independent awards including "'Best Female Acoustic Artist" at the New York Music Festival and her song "B Sting" won the Searchlight Songwriting Competition. She was nominated "Best Acoustic Artist" in the Star Music Awards. And recently, Whitton's new album, "Rare Bird" has been nominated for "BEST POP ALBUM" in the Independent Music Awards. "Rare Bird" was produced/co-written by Ian Coyne. Certains tracks were co-written by Peter Fox (Rachel Yamagata), Joe Solo (Macy Gray, Fergie) and mixed by Michael James (New Radicals, Hole). "All I Want to Do" is placed in the film, "She Wants Me" (starring Charlie Sheen, Hilary Duff) and "Monster" in indie horror film, "Among Friends".
Whitton's previous EP, which was also produced by Ian Coyne, celebrates song placement, "Apple Tree" in the film, "The 5th Quarter", (Aidan Quinn, Andie MacDowell, Ryan Merriman). As well as, track, "I Fell in Love" was featured on Delta's Radio/Sky Magazine., a national Valentine's Day commercial for "Gossip Girl" and also featured on ELLOS Clothing Co. commercial throughout northern Europe. Whitton continues to write, record and tour with the spirit of a gypsy and the discipline of a soldier. She's on tour in support of her new album release and recording her next album with writer/multi instrumentalist, Ben Burget and producer/bassist John Avila (Oingo Boingo)
